What popping pearls are made of.
Pova Pearls are popping pearls with electrolytes: a thin skin holding flavoured juice, sealed 40 ml to a cup. Below is every ingredient in the Hibiscus pearl, word for word from the manufacturer’s declaration, electrolyte salts included. One cup is one serving. Peel the lid and tip it into anything cold. What a popping pearl is, explained.

What a popping pearl is.
1. A thin skin
Soft and glossy. It holds its shape in a drink and gives way the moment you bite.
2. A juicy centre
Flavoured juice inside the skin. That is the burst.
3. Electrolyte salts, in the juice
Sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium citrate and dextrose, listed as electrolyte salts below. They are the “with electrolytes”.

Quick questions.
Is it the same as tapioca pearls?
No. Tapioca pearls are chewy and dark. A popping pearl has a thin skin and a liquid centre that bursts when you bite.
Can I heat or cook with them?
No — pearls are a finish, not an ingredient. Keep them cold or at room temperature, never boiled, baked or blended.
How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Storage instructions and shelf life are printed on every pack. We publish them here once the first production batch is labelled.
Is the ingredient list final?
Not yet. It is the manufacturer’s provisional declaration for the trial batch, word for word, with percentages still to come. The label on your pack is the final word.
Can I order for a café, office or event?
Yes — the wholesale page is for cafés, offices and events, and it has the way to reach us.
